Areas of Expertise
Somatics
Somatic psychotherapy incorporates the entire being into the picture, including the body, nervous system, and mindfulness of what information is held there.
In our sessions, somatic practices and curiosities help reveal much of what is being held within the body through movement, images, gesture, playfulness, sensation, and breath.
Gender & Sexuality
Gender and sexuality are significant parts of self-identity. I support clients who are navigating these expressions or processing aspects of what this means on individual and social levels.
Sex Therapy
I work with individuals and couples who are working on any questions or concerns about sex, sexual function, sexual feelings or beliefs, and intimacy.
I welcome diverse individual and cultural perspectives on these topics, and prioritize creating safe space to process this material.
Anger
Anger is a natural, healthy emotion. Learning skills to navigate reactivity and manage the intensity of anger creates space to face situations and people outside of our control.
This work enables anger to be less destructive, less shameful, and more helpful in creating clarity around needs.
Trauma & PTSD
We all go through difficult times at some point. Sometimes events can be traumatic, and can even significantly disrupt our lives.
I offer help to navigate through the effects of trauma, and incorporate tools that allow for healing from the numerous ways that it can affect us.
My Approach
I work somatically and relationally, and believe that when we are truly seen by another, something stirs within our wisest self that guides what we most need to know for healing.
My approach aims to create a safe space for this wisest self to show up and navigate the way. My style is compassionate and direct; I believe transformation happens when we can see ourselves clearly, with curiosity, and without shame or judgment.
